Boot to the Head - An Introduction

October 2, 2007 – 11:25 am

In 1987, the Frantics (a Canadian comedy and musical group) released an album called Boot to the Head. The album contained a collection of skits from their radio show Frantic Times. The album was recorded live in front of an audience, so the laughter in the background is genuine (and inspiring).

I do not remember when it was that I first heard its title track, Boot to the Head, and I have yet to aquire the entire album (released on CD in 1996), but that one song changed my life in a profound way. It made me realize I am not a freak or at least that if I am a freak, I am not alone in my common desire to give folk a boot to the head.

Today, someone who knows my love for the song sent a Youtube.com link. In this video, young martial artists perform the skit. You can hear their parents laughing over the soundtrack. It made my day so much, I had to not only post but create a category in my blog just for Boot to the Head.

As I find more performances and references, I will post them here.
