Can a goat be a working animal as defined by the Americans with Dissabuility act?

It is based on their ability to learn..If they can be trained..then yes..but the goats I had did what THEY wanted..not what I needed them to do, ie; stay out of my garden and not to eat my under wear and I know that minature horse can be trained..like dogs..
Yes you could find a psyco errr psychologist that would declare it theraputic as in a support/therapy animal.
There are goats that are service animals just like dogs. They pick things up for the person, they alert to the phone and door. There are many things.
Also many places will honor a registered support animal no matter what they are. In a lot of states it is law and in more it is becoming law for therapy/support animals. They are just as important as a “service” dog.
Sometimes a note for the doctor isn’t good enough because they are still considered pets. Havng them registered is much better.

I want a goat to go grocery shopping with me. Do you think I can find a psychologist who will say that it is theraputic?

If you can train the Goat to do things that a working dog for someone with disabilities can do, I’d be willing to bet you could.
