I am not your Guru

I am not your Guru

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qA0Z_nOO6wE

Great, now some Wing Nut named Shadowhawk thinks that 2007 is the year I become a Pagan Guru and announces it on Youtube.com. Now here is the real substance of the matter. I have taken a very strong stand against the pedophilic literature of Gavin and Yvonne Frost. I have presented that material in such a way that a huge number of people in the pagan community have read it and have voiced equal objections. So Shadowhawk has announced that these folk are brain dead for following me when in reality, they simply agree that the book is disguesting and its authors should not be followed.

I am no Guru. I just happen to agree with the overwhelming majority of people who think the Good Witches Bible is disguesting. So why do I stand out? Well, probably because unlike the folk, who will not speak out because they are afraid to hurt their book sales, I simply do not care about my reputation.

Here is the deal folk, my spirituality has not changed in the slightest. However, I have come to realize that the pagan community and in particular the Wiccan community has managed to attract a large number of people who I simply do not want my children raised around.

Q. If you have a bunch of pagans stay over at your house, where do you hide your money?
A. Under the soap.

I think we have become so open minded, that our brains have fallen out. I think we have become so tolerant that we are willing to tolerate almost anything, well other than intolerance. So I am bad because I am intolerant of pedophilia and the folk who promote it in the name of my religion. Ok, I am bad. The thing is, the only reason I am the one who stands out in the war against the Frosts is that I am one of the only ones who just doesn’t care about the repercussions. I am one of the only folk whose only reason to want to be the Guru to folk like this is so that I could mix the Kool Aid myself.

You see, stupid stinky pagans just put me off, especially the type who pose on Youtube with paper weights balanced on tree limbs such that they look all mystical. So, to clear things up for Shadowhawk and anyone else who thinks I am the next Guru; if you want to follow me, then I think you are a dim whit. Follow your heart. Read the book. Decide for yourself what it says.

P.S.
Oh wait, but before leaving the Cult of Drew… please send $9.95

  2. See I would find your money under the soap! (wink)

Where do we send the 9.95????
I didn’t see any bumper stickers for de-frosting at the Ball either! I am so let down because I was so hoping to buy a bunch and give them to the Harvest Church people on Gender Road.
(now that the joking is done)

There is something that bothers me greatly about this whole thing.
Some of these people who have been coming to the Ball for years decided that they didn’t want to come this year because of your stand and because of those who took a few words out of context concerning the Ritual. To think that these people can go and have a good time every other year, but when it comes to standing talk about something as serious as this It angers me greatly.
If these people wish to keep their heads hidden in the sand on child abuse I do not want to know them. There is no excuse acceptable for promoting and condoning abuse of any kind!
That is my stand and always has been my stand from the time before I had children and could think for myself.
So for those who are not able to standup and be an adult with a thinking brain and understand that abuse is wrong no matter what, they can just go F off.
I Do NOT and will NOT apologize for how I feel on this topic ever!

  3. Rhiannon - Here is the thing, the majority of the folk who call themselves Wiccan (and to a degree Pagan) are playing a role playing game not practicing a religion. They are interested in the tree branches with paper weights, the big heavy beaded necklaces, the long black robes, the spookey rituals, and so on.

Most are not interested in protecting children, civil rights distributed equaly, ecology, domestic violence, and other matters which effect their community. I remember when I tried to find folk who would mentor prisoners. It was like pulling teath. BTW: Many thanks to you, Starfire, and the handful of others who would visit.

I am fondly remembering of a review I had on A Wiccan Bible. In responce to my commentary on ecology, I was told that there is a seperation between church and state in this country and that my political adjenda has nothing to do with Wicca.

‘The Earth is our Mother. We must protect her.’

To many people, it is just a chant without meaning. They are just there for the party, not what the part means.

    By A.J. Drew on Oct 30, 2007

  4. One can party and play the part without turning their backs on those who NEED their help like abused children.

BTW in the Frosts blog Dancing Wiccans the guy e-anderson said to me, “You will be tattooed with a scarlet letter “A,” but it won’t stand for “adultery,” it will stand for “abuser”. Your shame and inaction for the spirit of Paganism and human evolution will hang around you like a bad stink forever.”
Of course I laugh in his face. Just by his remarks in his posts it shows that he condones abuse.
    As I replied to him
I will gladly wear the red badge of courage, the red letter A. No More Abuse! I will gladly wear the stink of stopping abuse. I have no tolerance for anyone who condones or promotes abuse.

The Frost supporters are a big part in making the Frosts look so bad because of their violent natures. They remind me of a bad Satanic movie!

I think one thing about people not wanting to go to the prisons is the “stigma” surrounding the prisons. Too many prison movies come to mind. I am sorry we couldn’t go more!

(hope you can understand my writing today. Fibro is in high flare-up so pain is high especially when trying to use the hands)

  5. I looked at that youtube video and made some comments as well. I posted under asfalt46 but only 1 of my 4 comments is there now. I’m wondering if he didn’t want my positive thoughts about the rit up there and deleted my comments.

  6. I never heard of Gavin and Yvonne Frost before I joined this site. But when I saw all the “de-frost” comments, I curiously started looking into the subject and was outraged. I frequent two stores where I get all of my Wiccan related materials.

One is half “headshop” and half spiritual supplies (books, incense, statues, etc). The woman who runs the shop is Wiccan and one of the best people I know. The shop is in the next state over, but I go there at least once a month and spend hours there chatting and brousing.

The other seems like a high priced dollar store. The woman who opened the store was a Wiccan I never met. When she passed, her husband kept the store open, but you can tell that he is just trying to make a buck. But there a two sisters who work there and who are very knowledgeable and helpful. One of them recently lost her 15 yr old daughter, who happened to be my 15 yr olds best friend. She is constantly calling, inviting my daughter to come over, and always worrying about how Stephanie is doing since Sabrina passed. She truly describes the meaning of a caring soul.

Besides the fact that these stores are run by wonderful women, they have something else in common. The Frost’s Bible, or anything else they may have written, is not found on any shelf. That says something to me.

I’d never considered myself a “real” Wiccan because I do not belong to a coven and do not know any other Wiccans on a personal friendship level. I have read over 100 books and have learned a lot educationally. But I developed all of my beliefs before I ever bought my first book. I stumbled upon Wicca looking for a spiritual paths that fits what I’ve always known. I do not do monthly rituals or cast spells to solve my problems (although I am constantly asking the Gods for guidance). I try to do what is right and try to think about consequences before I act. Being human, that doesn’t always happen.

Now that my rambling is done, I can get to the point. I believe in “An’ it harm none, do what ye will.” I believe most Wiccans believe this. I am also proud to say that, based on those eight words, I am the most intolerant person I know.

    I am completely intolerant of:

    1) Litterbugs that will throw trash on the ground two feet away from a garbage can. I’ve gone so far as to follow a couple of teenagers to their house with the soda cans they threw to the graond in front of my house. I rang the bell, and when their mother answered the door, I said, “Here. Your children dropped this in front of my house.” I handed her the cans and walked away.

    2) Child molesters- pick on somebody your own size, freak!

    3) People who tell me I’m going to a place I don’t even believe in to burn for eternity! My advice (from their own book of myths)… Take the log out of your own eye before worrying about the splinter in mine!

    4) Theives- I work hard to have what I have. Maybe you should try it.

    5) Murderers, rapists, people who torure other people and/or animals- I just don’t get it.

6)Warmongers- I don’t understand why. And A.J., you explained wars so well in your book and I agree with what you say, but it’s still beyond my understanding.

6)Animal abusers, including testing makeup, racing dogs or horses, developing space programs, dogfights, cat hoarding, circuses, and the countless other horrific acts people do to animals. STOP IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

7)So called “churches” who go to straight dead 20 yr old boy’s funerals to disrupt the families in what must be the lowest point in their lives and scream hateful hurtful remarks. The same people who stand outside of abortion clinics and scream at young girls who they know nothing about the circumstances which brought them there. Don’t these people have a job?

The list goes on and on. People seem to focus on the “do what thou wilt” part when the are bashing Wiccans for “preaching tolerance and not being tolerant enough.” But the first four words are the improtant part- “An’ it HARM NONE.” Shadowhawk says that Wicca is a fertility religion and that gay people can not be fertile. I agree with that comment, gay people cannot be fertile. So what? In case no one has noticed, the world is overpopulated. There are countless children who nobody wants and thank the gods, gay people can adopt! As far as Wicca being a fertility religion, almost every time I see a definition of Wicca, it starts with “nature-based.” For me, the fertility part is for the Earth, not for people. There are too many people using and wasting too much Earth. An’ it harm none- follow this and I will follow tolerance. I’ve never seen or heard anything that says we should be tolerant of hateful, hurtful, or negative acts or people.

And so I will remain proudly intolerant!

I do not think of you or anyone else as a “GURU,” but I do think of you as an educator, and for that I am grateful.

    Thank you and Bright Blessings!

  7. Sylverstar – Good to hear from you. I, of course, agree that non-heterosexual acts do not result in the conception of children. But gay folk not being fertile can be taken is some awfully horrible ways. Almost as horrible as the idea that Wicca is a fertility religion or that the pagan movement is a collection of fertility religions. The problem with claiming such things is that folk do not often understand the word ‘fertility” or the nature of its use in reference to the elder pagan religions.

Fertility is not a specific reference to baby making at all. If it did, we could certainly say that Christianity is a fertility religion, especially the Catholic variety. Birth control being against the rules, abortion being a mortal sin, and of course the whole with the hand of god, even a virgin woman becomes fertile and all.

The pagan fertility religions were generally associated with much more than simple human fertility. Sure, having babies to work the farm, protect the tribe, hunt and gather was important; but so was working the field and raising animals. Fertility of crop, fertility of raised animals, even the fertility of those things being hunted were vital to survival; so I am willing to bet that while human fertility was certainly important, it could not have been the central concern without the others. After all, what good is more mouths to feed if there isn’t food to be had?

I conclude that a modern fertility religion would have equal focus. Not so much on human fertility, but on the fertility of the crops, the animals, the work which feeds the kith and kin. Yep, sounds a bit nuts but what I am getting at is fertility in computer programming, in auto repair, in sales, and other forms of work. Fertility as Prosperity, not fertility as in popping out babies. In this respect, GLB couples certianly can be fertile.

    Your thoughts?

  8. I think we are saying the same thing, you are just saying it much more eloquently than I. Well put!
