Smoking Marijuana and Raping Boys a pagan tradition?

December 20, 2007 – 4:17 am

Phillip Distasio, 34, of Rocky River, Ohio is defending himself in the courts after he was charged 74 times. These 74 charges include rape, drugs and pandering obscenity to minors. They surround the man’s seemingly admitted abuse of 9 disabled boys. Yes, I did say “seemingly admitted abuse” because Distasio seems to think that raping young boys is his Constitutional Right under the First Amendment or some such thing.

Per reports, he has admitted that he is a pedophile but explains that it is OK because smoking marijuana and having sex with young boys is part of his religion. He is, after all, a “pagan friar” and the leader of the Arcadian Fields Ministries.

He told the judge, “I’m a pedophile. I’ve been a pedophile for 20 years. The only reason I’m charged with rape is that no one believes a child can consent to sex. The role of my ministry is to get these cases out of the courtrooms.”

  4. This isn’t about religion and as someone with an IQ above four, you suspect this guy knows it.

  5. Rabitchka - I dont think the guy has a direct link to the Church and School of Wicca. But I certianly think that because the pagan community tollerates such organizations and their literature, that we have not been clear how we as a community feel about such. Or maybe we are not clear about how we feel about things such as this.

gina - Sometimes I feel about the same. My jaw goes slack and drool comes out of my mouth because I simply can not believe what I am reading. Unfortunatly, things like this are now so common that it no longer surprises me. And yet, we continue to say that there is no problem within the pagan community. That we welcome diversity and yada yada.

CUUPs anounced not long ago that they are working on a statement of sexual ethics. As I understand it, it will contain simple things like: It is unethical for an adult to have sex with a child. In responce, there has been a huge number of people demanding that such a thing is oppressive, that we do not need to be told what we should do and should not do. I think it is becoming more and more obvious that we do.

Obsidian_Angel - I dont think it is about religion either and I think that is the point. The pagan community has not been clear what its religious guidlines are. We have not said THIS IS NOT OUR WAY. So the result is that it kind of is.

Dont think of it as being told what to do as much as being reminded.

  7. it’s people like him that make me wish murder was legal at times..ok, going to go off on a tangent here ignore me..lol

By gina on Dec 23, 2007

  8. gina - Yep, murder is technicaly illegal. The thing is, I think the influence of the jury system makes some murders less illegal than others. In this case, I don’t think too many folk would be inclined to throw the book at a person who improved the gene pool by removing this man.

I realize I sound rather barbaric in my acceptance of murder as a way to improve society, but what is more barbaric? Killing the person responsible for the crime or allowing the crimes to continue?
