Sometime ago, I introduced my readers to Debra Ravenswood; Coordinator of the Heart of the Ozarks Pagan Pride Day event in Arkansas. At the time I met her, it was in an effort to discuss her support of Gavin and Yvonne Frost who were to speak at her event.

I thought to myself, surly this woman could not possibly have read the book. Surly she could not want to hold the authors of what so many people feel is a pedophilic instructional up to the press as an example of something we, as pagans, are proud of. I appear to be mistaken. Debra Ravenswood knows exactly what is contained in that book. In fact, she reviewed it at Amazon.com and gave it five (5) stars.
At the time of this writing, Debra Ravenswood has a total of five reviews at Amazon.com Each of the five reviews is one of the Frost’s book and each of the reviews has five (5) stars.
Initially I thought that leaders in the pagan community, people like Debra Ravenswood and the rest of the Arkansas Pagan Pride folk just did not believe me when I told them what was in that book. After all, on at least one occasion Debra Ravenswood publicly claimed that my quotes were not accurate. But then I find reviews such as the one she has at Amazon.com and I have to wonder if there is not a large number of people within the pagan community who believe just as the Frosts have indicated; that children should be deflowered at the onset of puberty, that home made dildos should be used to get little girls ready, that fasting and alcohol should be used to get them ready for sexual initiation, that their genitals be surgically modified, that… well that Wicca is founded in these things.
Our leaders seem to think it is and they defend people like Gavin and Yvonne Frost who have published as much.

Did you ever think that maybe she hasnt read the book, but that she is doing it to piss you off? That maybe she doesnt want to make waves in her life by denouncing them, and because it doesnt involve her she doesnt care? I have seen that a lot when it comes to you and this issue. People do and say things just to irk you. Like compare you to hitler, and compare your supporters to the SS… Thats not something that is said because you ARE like Hitler, its said just to piss you off. And to piss off your supporters. I dunno, just a thought. Blessings

better yet, this only confirms in my mind at least that she has earned “Queen of Nutwad” status, aw hell A.J., just make her a crown for posterity .cause this really doesn’t surprise me at all, does it surprise you??

Briena - No I hadn’t thought that & yes, considering my war of words with Deb Ravenswood I can see your point. But if you look at the reviews, you will notice a few names, authors names, giving the book 5 stars as well. I am really starting to believe people know exactly what the book contains and really are proud of it. I am really starting to think there is a conspiracy of sorts. Not something planned out or organized like NAMBLA or anything, just a collection of sick minded individuals who support and defend each other.
Gina - I think you have confused Debra Ravenswood (Arkansas Pagan Pride) with Jill Medicine Heart Combs (Ohio Valley Pagan Pride Project) who you earlier gave that title to. That is my point. There are so many of these people who are so supportive of Gavin and Yvonne Frost that I am starting to see a pattern. I am starting to see a large portion of the pagan community which not only has no problem with what the Frosts wrote but who have a huge problem with folk who are disgusted by what was written by Gavin and Yvonne Frost.
It is almost as if these people feel that in my discussing the book and my objections to it, that I am attacking them personally. Perhaps I am attacking them personally by attacking the pedophilic material in that book because I also attack what I see as the real problem; people who see nothing wrong with the material.

Maybe they just choose to ignore that part of the book. That side of the Frosts. Selective reasoning of sorts. Many people dont want to address the bad when they see good in something. They just want to go on their way with the good parts pretending the bad parts dont exist. When you point out to them that the bad parts DO exist and are very much REAL then they get angry and feel threatened as though you are attacking them. You are attacking their beliefs, their ideals, and their understanding of how they view the Frosts. They dont want the Frosts to be perverts, they dont want such prominant members of the community to be THOSE PEOPLE that so many other members have had dealings with. I mean most of the pagan community has had more hardships then the average person. Molestation, rapes, murder, abuse… What have you. They dont want to see the Frosts as the victemizers, they want them as their allies, their friends, part of the pagan family. YOU point out what they dont want to see, that angers them. So they still refuse it, because they dont want to accept it. Like when someone you love dies unexpectedly. You dont believe it, you refuse it, call them liars, you even FIGHT over it throwing punches. You dont want to believe that they are dead… They dont want to believe that the Frosts are evil. I dont know if evil is the right word, maybe sick or disturbed. But either way they dont want to believe it, so they fight you. I dunno just another random ider that popped into my head. Blessings

1 word, OOPS! sorry..lol but really if they are condoning the words in that book..then something is very wrong with their mental status..IMHO
