Hellstorm Coven convicted of Murder

18 year old Matthew Stegman’s body was found shirtless and face down in a Dea Moines, Iowa cemetery. He had been stabbed to death. Additional blunt force trauma was also found. Shortly after the discovery of the body, police responded to a telephone tip and arrested five friends: Sheri Fisher (21), Andrew Johnson (22), Robert Johnston (27), Robert Myers II (24), and Terry Williams (22). The theory at the time was that Sheri Fisher had helped plan the murder, but that it was the four men who carried out he dastardly deed. The five who stood accused as well as the victim all live together at 1519 Grand Ave.,

.

“They all knew each other,” Sgt. Todd Dykstra said. “To my knowlege they were friends.”

As I write this article, the victim’s Myspace Account still plays Metalica’s Unforgiven II. His screen name was “drunkin italian” [SIC]

“Lay beside me, tell me what they’ve done
Speak the words I want to hear, to make my demons run”

There Mathew Stegman said he likes to write songs and poetry, playing guitar and running. His heroes are Metalica and Tom Petty.

Sheri Fisher, accused of plotting the murder, also had a myspace account. Her screen name is Sita. There, atop a background of skull and cross bones, she includes the following in the About Me section we see that she is a Wiccan mother of two.

“Yes i am Wiccan. I love to go for walks in the middle of the night, my favorite place to do this is at the cemetary.[SIC]”

“Ohh I have two beautiful little girls(Who I love with all my hearrt).”

Sept 7, 2007 - WHO TV Channel 13 Reports

“That ritual was possibly performed by the five people police arrested and charged with first degree murder. All five were arrested at the same Des Moines apartment building earlier this week. “

“Friends of Matt Stegman said they knew the five alleged killers and they said they even heard some of them talk about devil worship in the past.”

“What investigators believe or know is that some type of ritual was performed prior to the homicide.” - Des Moines Police Sergeant Todd Dykstra

Terry Williams had a Myspace Account, but it has since been removed. Some quotes from his myspace account are recorded at an online True Crime Website in an article written by Steve Huff.

Reportedly, Terry William’s Myspace Account like that of Sheri Fisher declared that he was Wiccan. Matt Witt, an associate of the group that murdered Matthew Stegman states that most of the killers were Wiccan.

Rev. Biedermann who led approximatly 150 people in a memorial service at Ankeny’s Holy Trinity Lutheran Church indicated that prior to his murder, Mathew Stegman was “coming back” (presumably to Christianity).

“And, as Matt was coming back, I believe the Heavenly Father was waiting with open arms.”

Their motive? One of their members used his psychic powers to read the mind of their victim and determine that he was planning on raping the 13 year old daughter of one of the group’s members.

“That “vision” led the others to kill Stegman, prosecutors said.”

Terry Williams (the mind reader) was convicted of first degree murder and was sentenced to life in prison.

Robert Johnston was found guilty of first degree murder and sentenced to fifty years in prison.

Robert Myers II was sentenced to life but will be eligible for parole after 30 years.

Sheri Fisher pled guilty to attempted murder and willful injury. She was sentenced to 35 years in prison.

Andrew Johnson pled guilty to second-degree murder and could receive parole after 35 years in prison.

In blog after blog, Wiccans demand that this murder had nothing to do with Wicca. In blog after blog, Pagans demand that this murder had nothing to do with the modern pagan movement. However, when we consider the conduct of such people as Jill Medicine Heart Combs who has bragged about conducting my murder in effigy with 80 rounds being fired into my effigy, when we read about Lori Cabbot’s run in with the law, when I think about the death threats made against myself and my family, when I encounter Wiccan after Wiccan, Pagan after Pagan who claim mind reading powers and talk about their clans, I have to wonder if this murder does not reflect a clear and present part of both the Wiccan and Pagan community.

The authorities and the media went out of their way not to use the word “coven”, but the word seems to fit. The authorities and the media went out of their way not to use the words Wicca, witch, or pagan. But those words seem to fit.

Folk, something is wrong in our community. Something is very, very wrong.

  3. What do people expect? They seem to think that if someone is a member of their religion that person is automaticaly a good person. Why do people think that? I really don’t know. Add to this the fact that in most other comunities, religious or otherwise, someone claiming they can read minds, is really an elf or talks to fairies gets refered to a mental health institution. Pagans are actively encouraged to believe in these things. If someone says “I can read minds!” people just say “OOh, cool, you’re lucky.” they dont bother to think that person may be a few ants short of a picnic.

Don’t get me wrong I do actualy believe in the supernatural, but I certainly dont believe everyone who claims some ability really has it.

  4. Give me a freaking break!

When Charles Manson committed murders in the name of Jesus, or when Jonestown happened taking 900+ lives, or even Waco Texas, Christians were the first off the mark to say that those were not true Christians.

Stop being hypocrites. If a rule applies to one, it applies to all. If Waco, Jonestown, and those freaky Mormon cults with 400 or so children being taken away don’t count as Christian according to Christians, they we Pagans/Heathens/Wiccans get to use the same rule. The only proof we have of their wicca is their Facebook account? Give me a break, that wouldn’t stand up in court. Stop looking for boogeymen in other religions, and take care of the pedophile priests and money-launderers in your own midst first.

    Sigrun, a proud Heathen.
